Softball Recap: Poston Butte's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last six contests, Poston Butte finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Coconino Panthers, falling 6-0. Considering the last time the Broncos couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Poston Butte moved to 12-6 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Coconino, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Poston Butte didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-3 win against Mohave on the 5th. As for Coconino, they will challenge Marcos de Niza at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.3, the Padres 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
