Baseball Game Preview: Moon Area Tigers vs. South Fayette Lions

For the first time this season, Moon Area will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Monday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Moon Area Tigers face off against South Fayette Lions at 4:00 p.m. The last three games they have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Moon Area is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since April 9, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Governor Mifflin by a score of 4-2.

Moon Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thad Longwell, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, South Fayette came up short against St. Petersburg on Monday and fell 11-6.

South Fayette's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Moon Area, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Moon Area skirted past South Fayette 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moon Area since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
