Baseball Recap: Cary Takes a Loss

Cary extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-14 in the process. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Hope Falcons. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Green Hope, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

For Green Hope's part, Jackson Wall looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wall has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Dean was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Troy Haynes, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Coming up, Cary will square off against Holly Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Hope will be paying especially close attention to the Imps' match: after the Imps face off against the Golden Hawks, they'll take on Green Hope again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
