Basketball Game Preview: Russell County Warriors vs. Valley Rams

Two dominant guards in Mckenzie Word and Kayden Dooley are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Russell County Warriors will face off against the Valley Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Russell County strolled past Rehobeth with points to spare, taking the game 50-34.

Meanwhile, Valley came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 56-44.

Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Russell County, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Russell County didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Russell County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
