KIPP Denver Collegiate gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand The Pinnacle Timberwolves a 2-0 shutout. Even though the White Tigers got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Jeffre Perez was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Joaqu?n Acosta scored both of KIPP Denver Collegiate's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.
The Pinnacle now has a losing record at 1-2-1.
