Softball Recap: Woodland Warriors vs. Marquette Crusaders
After flying high against Lowpoint-Washburn last Thursday, Woodland came back down to earth. The Woodland Warriors fell just short of the Marquette Crusaders by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. Woodland has struggled against Marquette recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Shae Simons put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Simons has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Simons was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
