Baseball Game Preview: Wheeler Eagles vs. Falkner Eagles

For the second straight game, Wheeler will face off against Falkner. Wheeler will host Falkner at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Wheeler is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

Wheeler's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Falkner as they made off with a 12-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Wheeler.

Caleb Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Brayden Edwards was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Wheeler's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-2 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Bonds Stephens was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wheeler's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Falkner, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8.
