Softball Recap: Hamilton County Find Success

Hamilton County posted their closest win since March 27th on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Fairfield Mules 6-5. This was payback for the Foxes, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Colebie Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addison Kelley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 contests. Another player making a difference was Tinlea Webb, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hamilton County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Hamilton County's record is now 6-8. As for Fairfield, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Fairfield has already played their next game, a 20-10 loss against Salem on the 16th. Hopefully Hamilton County paid attention to the Mules' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Mules at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
