Recap: Jayhawk Linn Jayhawks vs. Pleasanton Blu-Jays
The Jayhawk Linn Jayhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-46 to Pleasanton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jayhawk Linn in their matchups with Pleasanton: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Jayhawk Linn still got an impressive performance from Ryan Broyles, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Broyles has scored all season. Bryton Spencer was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Pleasanton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mario Davis, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tony Gillespie, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Jayhawk Linn has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Pleasanton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jayhawk Linn and Oswego will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
