Volleyball Recap: Columbus Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Columbus duked it out with Lomira on Thursday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Lions by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Columbus easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-16.

Columbus had a senior duo take command as Mia Powers had 13 kills and two aces and Macy Reetz had 18 assists and three digs. Powers has been hot, having posted eight or more kills the last seven times she's played.

Columbus was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Columbus now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lomira, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Waupun on the 4th. As for Lomira, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Winnebago Lutheran Academy on the 4th.
