Volleyball Game Preview: Grapevine Mustangs vs. Argyle Eagles

The Grapevine Mustangs will face off against the Argyle Eagles on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Grapevine comes in on four and Argyle on 15.

Grapevine is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Lubbock-Cooper.

While Grapevine might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Lubbock-Cooper scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 25-19.

Grapevine found their leader in freshman Prescott Carey, who had 18 digs and three aces. Carey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 17 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Wylie typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Argyle proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs.

Argyle never let Wylie on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-22, 25-20.

Grapevine's win bumped their record up to 26-19. As for Argyle, their victory bumped their record up to 36-3.

Grapevine might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Argyle when the teams last played back in October. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
