Tanque Verde skates past San Miguel with ease

Recap: Tanque Verde Hawks vs. San Miguel Vipers

The Tanque Verde Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past San Miguel 75-9 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Tanque Verde as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Tanque Verde found their leader in underclassman Layla O'Rourke-Slone, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rose Teichman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Tanque Verde's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for San Miguel, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tanque Verde won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sabino at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Sabino has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for San Miguel, they will be playing at home against Catalina at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
