Football Recap: Framingham Flyers vs. Natick Redhawks

Framingham entered their contest against Natick on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Flyers were outmatched by the Redhawks and fell 33-6. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Flyers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Zareh Mikaelian threw for 37 yards and one touchdown. Max Blue was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Nicholas Nascimento Duarte rushed for 46 yards.

James Mortarelli produced another solid performance rushing for 115 yards on only ten carries, while also catching one TD for Natick. An impressive showing, but Mortarelli really ramped things up playing D: he picked up a sack, made 17 total tackles (6.0 for loss), and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Jack Showstead was another key rusher, rushing for 70 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Framingham's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Natick, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

As of now, neither Framingham nor the Redhawks have any future games scheduled.
