Soccer Game Preview: Emerald vs. Wren

The Emerald Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Wren Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Emerald has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Wren will arrive with four straight victories.

Last Monday, Emerald didn't have quite enough to beat Dixie and fell 3-2.

Caiden Hedrick and Daniel Duran Ibarra scored both of Emerald's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

While Wren didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Belton-Honea Path on Tuesday as Wren made off with a 5-1 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Emerald now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Wren, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
