Basketball Game Preview: Providence Classical Paladins vs. NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks

The Providence Classical Paladins will take on the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Providence Classical has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 205 points over their last three matchups.

On Tuesday, everything came up roses for Providence Classical against Lake Pointe Academy as the team secured a 75-33 win. The Paladins pushed the score to 67-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mariners cut but never quite recovered from.

Grafton Eiff had an outrageously good game as he shot 80% from the field to rack up 23 points in addition to six assists and six boards. The game was his third in a row with at least 23 points. Malachi Thompson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Providence Classical was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, NorthPoint Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 77-72 to Arborbrook Christian Academy. The NightHawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Providence Classical will have to contain Gabe Spann as he made an impact in NorthPoint Christian Academy's last game. He went 13-for-15 on his way to 46 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Braxton Goodman, who posted six points and nine boards.

Providence Classical's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Providence Classical was dealt a bruising 70-37 loss at the hands of NorthPoint Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Paladins were down 41-20.
