Basketball Recap: Bonanza Takes a Loss

Bonanza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cheyenne Desert Shields. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bengals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-37 on January 7th.

Cheyenne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elissa Sambo, who posted 16 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jacquline Soncini, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Bonanza's record is now 1-13. As for Cheyenne, their record is now 5-9.

Bonanza has already played their next game (against Eldorado), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cheyenne will head out on the road to take on Mojave at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Cheyenne is facing Mojave at the right time seeing as Mojave is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
