Hobart has gone a perfect 3-0 against Hammond Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Brickies will face off against the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. Hammond Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hobart, who comes in off a win.
Hobart not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 22, 2024 (when they won 24-0). They blew past Hammond Morton 14-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Brickies considering their two-run performance the game before.

Connor Stafford made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Hobart's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 3-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Stafford was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
In other pitching news, Drew Burris looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Michael Klaich, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Trey Callahan also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Hobart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Hammond Morton hit Hammond Central with a five-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves came up short against the Governors, falling 13-3. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Governors: they've now lost three in a row.
Hammond Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Tiscareno, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Hammond Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Hobart, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Hobart took their win against Hammond Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-3 score. Do the Brickies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
