Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 55-39 bruising from the Hudson Explorers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rough Riders of the 53-30 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Roosevelt lost, don't look at Gavin Peeps. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Those three steals gave Peeps a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Foreman, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hudson, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Roosevelt will look to defend their home court on Friday against Aurora at 7:30 p.m. As for Hudson, they will head out to take on Nordonia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Nordonia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Hudson likes a good challenge.
