Volleyball Recap: West Springfield Comes Up Short

West Springfield was the 3-2 winner over Easthampton/Hampshire when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Terriers fell 3-1 to the Eagles on Monday. The Terriers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

West Springfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-13.

Emma Krivolenko paced West Springfield's offense, picking up 11 kills. Krivolenko got some help from Sophia Stepchuk and her 18 assists. Stepchuk was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

West Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Easthampton/Hampshire, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-9 record this season.

West Springfield will welcome Ludlow at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Easthampton/Hampshire, they will head out to square off against East Longmeadow at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
