Softball Game Preview: Parrish Community Bulls vs. Mitchell Mustangs

The Parrish Community Bulls will take on the Mitchell Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Parrish Community 2, Mitchell 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Parrish Community is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Steinbrenner a 1-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Bulls, who have now won four games in a row.

The result came thanks to Emmaline Van Beck's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Parrish Community saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alysa Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

East Lake typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Mitchell proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Eagles. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Taylor Tucker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, MacKenzie Tucker was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Savannah Toukatly was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Mitchell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Parrish Community, their win bumped their record up to 25-3.
