Volleyball Recap: Greenbrier East Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Emily Mcclure and Reagan Cline

Greenbrier East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Herbert Hoover Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Greenbrier East had strong showings from Reagan Cline, who had 13 digs and one assist, and Emily McClure, who had ten digs and two aces. Cline is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Herbert Hoover got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braelyn Adkins out in front who had 19 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Adkins has posted over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Kylie Hackney, who had 14 assists and nine digs.

Greenbrier East now has a losing record of 16-17-4. As for Herbert Hoover, their victory bumped their record up to 42-7-1.

Greenbrier East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against PikeView on the 21st. As for Herbert Hoover, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Hedgesville on the 18th.
