Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Bishop O'connell

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop O'Connell). Everything went their way against the Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves on Saturday as the Bishop O'Connell Knights made off with an 18-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won five in a row.

Drew Markey looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Chaz Walker was a standout: he scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Kamari Chisolm, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Bishop O'Connell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saint John Paul the Great Catholic only posted an OBP of .480.

Bishop O'Connell pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Saint John Paul the Great Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
