Softball Game Preview: North Star Cougars vs. Northern Bedford County Panthers

The North Star Cougars will square off against the Northern Bedford County Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Star has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 14.

North Star fell victim to Bedford and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Bisons, falling 14-0.

Mylee Mitchell was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4.

North Star's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Northern Bedford County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
