Basketball Game Preview: Elmira Falcons vs. Siuslaw Vikings

The Elmira Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Siuslaw Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Elmira challenged East Linn Christian Academy on Tuesday. Elmira took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Linn Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Eagles are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Siuslaw waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Irish 64-34. That looming 64-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.

Elmira has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Siuslaw, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Elmira didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Siuslaw in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elmira since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
