Basketball Recap: South View Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

South View won the last time they faced Purnell Swett and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the South View Tigers' way against the Purnell Swett Rams as the South View Tigers made off with a 69-47 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yabniel Cheveres, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Naishion Singletary, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points and six boards.

Despite the loss, Purnell Swett had strong showings from Collin Sampson, who went 7 for 16 en route to 21 points and three steals, and Jeremiah Barnes, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points. Sampson's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Colton Sampson was another key player, putting up no points and three steals.

South View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Purnell Swett, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Seventy-First the next time they take the court. South View will host Seventy-First at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Purnell Swett will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
