Softball Game Preview: Cape Cod RVT Crusaders vs. Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams

Cape Cod RVT is 0-10 against Upper Cape Cod RVT since May of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Crusaders will look to defend their home field against the Rams at 3:30 p.m. Cape Cod RVT has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cape Cod RVT couldn't beat Bristol County Agricultural on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Crusaders came up short against the Chieftains, falling 13-4. While the Crusaders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Chieftains 4-0 in the first period.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Upper Cape Cod RVT nor South Shore Vo-Tech made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Rams put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 10-2 victory. That eight-run margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.

Amaya Irving spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Meadow Diede (Captain) was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayia Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cape Cod RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
