Recap: Ripon Indians vs. Escalon Cougars
The Ripon Indians''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 40-7 loss at the hands of Escalon. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ripon in their matchups with Escalon: they've now lost five in a row.
Joshua Graham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Escalon, rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Jamin Miller and his 102 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Escalon's victory.
Ripon has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Escalon, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Ripon will be playing at home against Hughson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hughson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ripon in California (Hughson is ranked 257th, while Ripon is ranked 544th). As for Escalon, they will head out on the road to face off against Livingston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
