Recap: Upson-Lee Knights vs. Peach County Trojans
The Upson-Lee Knights had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Peach County 21-20. For Upson-Lee, this counts as revenge for the 54-0 loss Peach County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Upson-Lee found their leader in underclassman Nicholas Wells, who threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Ja'Quan Bentley and his 129 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Upson-Lee's win.
Upson-Lee's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Peach County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 8-4 record last season and are now at 2-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upson-Lee will take on Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mary Persons is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. As for Peach County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pike County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Pike County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
