After a string of eight wins, San Pedro's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 18-14 to the Fullerton Indians. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Indians are ranked 71st).

Despite the loss, San Pedro still got an impressive performance from Fatima Ramirez, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two scores.

San Pedro's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Fullerton, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6.

San Pedro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-13 win against Inglewood on the 4th. As for Fullerton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 25-19 victory against Corona del Mar on the 4th.
