Baseball Game Preview: Alcorn Central Bears vs. Ripley Tigers

The Alcorn Central Bears will head out to square off against the Ripley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Alcorn Central nor Ripley posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Alcorn Central managed to slip by Hatley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bears came up short against the Tigers on Saturday, falling 17-0. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Ripley's offense. They lost 12-0 to Corinth on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Alcorn Central's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Ripley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Alcorn Central couldn't quite get it done against Ripley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-6. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
