Basketball Recap: Miller Comes Up Short

Miller lost against Winner back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Miller Rustlers took a hard 61-45 fall against the Winner Warriors. The Rustlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Winner's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shawn Hammerbeck led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Ryder Halligan, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 20 points.

Miller now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Winner, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miller will venture away from home to take on Platte/Geddes at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Winner, they will take on Cheyenne-Eagle Butte at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Winner is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.
