Baseball Recap: Hasbrouck Heights Triumphs

Hasbrouck Heights won the last time they faced Garfield and things went their way on Friday too. The Aviators had just enough and edged out the Boilermakers 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Aviators as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cole Sudol looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Tommy Stevens was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Hasbrouck Heights: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Victori, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Hasbrouck Heights' win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Garfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Hasbrouck Heights will take on Whippany Park at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Garfield, they will challenge Lodi at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
