Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cooper). They put the hurt on the Bland Tigers with a sharp 17-6 win on Monday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
John Ramos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Ramos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Courion Finney was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Levi Oneal also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Cooper always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bland only posted an OBP of .417.
Cooper now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bland, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.
Cooper will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bland: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
