Basketball Game Preview: Golden Valley Grizzlies vs. Canyon Cowboys

Golden Valley is 2-8 against Canyon since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Golden Valley Grizzlies will be playing at home against the Canyon Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Golden Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Last Saturday, everything went Golden Valley's way against Royal as Golden Valley made off with a 66-40 win.

Meanwhile, Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 77-61 fall against Oaks Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), the Cowboys still had to take the loss.

Golden Valley will have to contain Eric Kubel as he made an impact in Canyon's last game. He posted 23 points. Kubel's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Yuhico, who had 15 points.

Golden Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.

Golden Valley beat Canyon 60-52 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Will Golden Valley repeat their success, or does Canyon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
