Basketball Game Preview: Mitchell Mountaineers vs. Eastern Randolph Wildcats

The Mitchell Mountaineers are taking a road trip to challenge the Eastern Randolph Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Monday, Mitchell came up short against Avery County and fell 59-52.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eastern Randolph duked it out with Randleman on Friday. Eastern Randolph took a 68-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Randleman. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Tigers are ranked 81st).

Mitchell will have to keep a close watch on Tyler Gee and Timothy Brower, a pair of players who had a big impact on Eastern Randolph's prior game. Gee posted 15 points along with six boards and five steals, while Brower on his way to 18 points and five assists. Those five steals gave Gee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of William Stalker, who put up seven points.

Eastern Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
