Grand Rapids came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Superior Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunderhawks have posted since September 11th.

Grand Rapids had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-8.

Despite the loss, Superior still got an impressive performance from Brekyn Warburton, who had 28 digs and four assists.

Grand Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Superior, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Grand Rapids will face off against Cloquet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Superior, they will take on Virginia at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
