It's playoff time, and Evansville Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 76-37 win over the Boonville Pioneers. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Evansville Central's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mya Skelton, who went 9 of 12 on her way to 22 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. What's more, Skelton also racked up four steals, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madalynn Shirley, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards.

Skelton wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Evansville Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Boonville lost, don't look at Emily Parker. Despite the final result, she went 14 for 27 to rack up 25 points. That was a full 67.6% of Boonville's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Abigail Wongler was another key player, putting up seven points.

Evansville Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 37.3% in those games and 29.8% outside of them. As for Boonville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17.

Looking ahead, Evansville Central will face off against Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Evansville Central is facing Mt. Vernon at the right time seeing as Mt. Vernon is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. Boonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
