Baseball Game Preview: Valley Lutheran Chargers vs. Carrollton Cavaliers

The Valley Lutheran Chargers will venture away from home to take on the Carrollton Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley Lutheran will be strutting in after a victory while Carrollton will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Valley Lutheran came out on top against Laker by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Jacob Grimpo spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Valley Lutheran saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Diener, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Tyler Belt-Captain also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Carrollton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to Hemlock.

Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Valley Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Everything went Valley Lutheran's way against Carrollton in their previous matchup back in April, as Valley Lutheran made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
