Football Recap: Norton Starts off Right with Win over Oakmont Regional + How To Watch

Norton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Oakmont Regional Spartans 50-14. For the Lancers, this counts as revenge for the 14-6 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Ryan Gitau went supernova, rushing for 116 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Those 116 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Norton didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Oakmont Regional to a completion percentage of just 42.3%. The Lancers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 70%.

Norton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jovani Melendez and Gitau.

Norton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 34-27 loss against East Bridgewater on the 12th. As for Oakmont Regional, they have also already played their next matchup, a 47-13 victory against Nauset Regional on the 13th.
