Recap: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Thompson Valley Eagles
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 43-14, which was the final score in Northridge's's tilt against Thompson Valley last Thursday. Northridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-7.
Despite the loss, Northridge still got an impressive performance from Chris Perez, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Riley Suarez was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 101 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Suarez really tore up the turf during one magnificent 83-yard run. Another player making a difference was Garet Hendrickson, who picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Thompson Valley's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Northridge's QB won't forget Colton (cj) James anytime soon given James sacked him four times.
This is the second loss in a row for Northridge and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Thompson Valley and 7-2 Roosevelt. As for Thompson Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Northridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Thompson Valley also has no future games currently scheduled.
