Meanwhile, Christ the King got the win against Bradford Prep on Friday by a conclusive 8-1. With that victory, the Crusaders brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Patrick Walsh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Christ the King is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise. Walsh was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Troy Alderfer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Jamison Ehret was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Metrolina Christian Academy pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Christ the King, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Metrolina Christian Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. Metrolina Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Christ the King, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Metrolina Christian Academy continue to outrun the ball?
Metrolina Christian Academy skirted past Christ the King 3-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Metrolina Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Christ the King have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
