Lockport is a perfect 10-0 against Lincoln-Way West since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Porters will host the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Lockport sitting on five straight victories and Lincoln-Way West on four.
On Thursday, Lockport narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Sandburg 2-1.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Lockport got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-17, 12-25, 25-18.
Lockport found their leader in sophomore Emma Consigny, who had 11 digs and two assists.
Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way West was able to grind out a solid victory over Oswego East on Wednesday, taking the game 2-0.
Lincoln-Way West never let Oswego East on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-12.
Lockport better focus on containing Claire Murphy and Ellie Laack as the pair were huge in Lincoln-Way West's win. Murphy had 17 assists and five digs, while Laack had six digs. Murphy has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last seven times she's played.
Lincoln-Way West's win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Lockport, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Lockport has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Lincoln-Way West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Lockport skirted past Lincoln-Way West 2-1 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Murphy, who had 12 digs and four aces.
