Softball Recap: Lewis County Panthers vs. Owensboro Red Devils

The Lewis County Panthers beat the Owensboro Red Devils 13-8 on Wednesday.

Brailey Carroll was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makaela Dodson, who went 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Taya Tiller was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lewis County's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Owensboro, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
