Softball Recap: Arlington Now 2-1 Since Losing 6 Straight

There's no place like home for Arlington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Twin River Titans on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Irie McCoy, who went 3-for-4 while posting 5 RBIs, 2 doubles, and 2 runs.

Arlington took advantage of their speed and finished the game with four stolen bases. They have not posted that many stolen bases since the 22nd, when they snagged nine stolen bases.

On Twin River's side, they got a good showing from Caylyn Zoucha, who struck out 6 batters over 3 innings while giving up no earned runs off 2 hits.

At the plate, Twin River saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JLee Van Driel, who went 2-for-3 while logging 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. The game also marked Van Driel's tenth in a row where she got on base at least two times.

Arlington is now 2-1, having gone 2-1 since their 6-game losing streak (dating back to last season) ended. As for Twin River, they have now lost eight of their last nine games on the road. That's taken a bite out of their 1-4 record this season.

Arlington has already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on the 25th. As for Twin River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-2 loss against Yutan-Mead on the 24th.
