Soccer Game Preview: Yucaipa vs. Redlands East Valley

Yucaipa is 0-9-1 against Redlands East Valley since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Yucaipa Thunderbirds will head out on the road to challenge the Redlands East Valley Wildcats at 5:30 p.m.

Yucaipa is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Beaumont on Thursday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Redlands East Valley had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cowboys a 5-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

Redlands East Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six contests. As for Yucaipa, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-4.

Yucaipa came up short against Redlands East Valley in their previous matchup on January 9th, falling 3-1. Can Yucaipa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
