Preview: Southington Blue Knights vs. Simsbury Trojans
The Southington Blue Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Simsbury Trojans at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Southington didn't have too much trouble with East Hartford at home as they won 52-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for Southington.
Southington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Roxy Cardillo, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Cardillo has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Cooper, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Simsbury can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Hall at home to the tune of 62-31. The victory was familiar territory for Simsbury who now have five in a row.
Southington now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Simsbury, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1.
