Basketball Game Preview: Navajo Pine Warriors vs. Hozho Academy Wolves

The Navajo Pine Warriors will face off against the Hozho Academy Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Navajo Pine is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Navajo Pine is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Dulce on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Navajo Pine was dealt a 66-23 loss at the hands of Dulce. The Warriors were down 55-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Navajo Pine saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chad Tsosie posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Hozho Academy was beaten by Rehoboth Christian 74-25 on Tuesday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hozho Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Navajo Pine, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.

Everything came up roses for Navajo Pine against Hozho Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 71-34 victory. Does Navajo Pine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hozho Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
