Basketball Recap: Lighthouse College Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Lighthouse College Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 75-56 bruising from the Hammond Central Wolves. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Marcus Browder was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine assists for Hammond Central. That's the most assists Browder has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Cylin Pointer, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 20 points and five steals.

Lighthouse College Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hammond Central, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lighthouse College Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on River Forest at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Hammond Central, they will venture away from home to take on 21st Century Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. 21st Century Charter will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hammond Central surely won't give up without a fight.
