Softball Game Preview: Palmer Trinity Falcons vs. Academy for Innovative Education Aviators

The Palmer Trinity Falcons will take on the Academy for Innovative Education Aviators at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Palmer Trinity is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Miami Springs on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

The team relied heavily on Gina Marie Pineda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, one triple, and one run. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Cerda, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Palmer Trinity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Springs only posted an OBP of .357.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Academy for Innovative Education, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Mater Bay Academy on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Aviators needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Academy for Innovative Education's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Palmer Trinity, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Palmer Trinity skirted past Academy for Innovative Education 1-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Aviators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
