Football Recap: Bryan County Redskins vs. Aquinas Fightin' Irish

Bryan County lost against Aquinas back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Redskins had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Fightin' Irish.

Despite the loss, Bryan County still got an impressive performance from Anddreas McKinny, who rushed for 76 yards and one score on only eight carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 55 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aquinas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Rhodes, who picked up 135 receiving yards and three TDs. Rhodes' receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 126 receiving yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Turner Stevenson, who threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Bryan County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Aquinas, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Bryan County and Aquinas will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Redskins see the field they'll take on Savannah at 7:30 p.m. on September 5. As for Aquinas, their break will end when they face Hephzibah at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
